Wear and corrosion protection

Nearly all industrial involve wear and/or corrosion. In most cases this attack to machines and equipment along with high cost is tolerated, since it is considered unavoidable, although appropriate protective measures can save maintenance, spare part and repair cost and increase production time due to less down time. By means of suitable “armouring” or installation of selected ceramic components as well as coatings good protection can be achieved.

Coatings

(Flame-spraying, atmospheric and vacuum-plasma-spraying, high speed plasma spraying) with metals, hard metals, ceramics, composites and cermets

Ceramics:
CrO2, ZrO2, Al2O3 and mixtures with TiO2, TiC, CrC2, NiCr

Hard metals: WC-Co, WC-Ni

Metals: Mo, Ni, Cr, Al, Cu and mixtures with hard materials

Cermets: metal/ceramic-combinations

Composites: metal or ceramics with short fibre reinforcement or lubrication. Depending on application, products are provided with intermediate/adhesive and/or anti-corrosion layers. We can also apply hard metal layers permitted in food industry.

For sliding applications, we can incorporate anti-friction materials into the layers.

Print rolls casings, pump casings, impellers, rotors and pump wheels, pump housings, pump shafts, rotor shafts, mandrels, wire deflection pulleys, jet engines, slide rings, plungers, extruder cylinders and worms, soldering substrates, metal dies, chain bushings and bolts, industrial and household knives, heat exchangers in power plant technology.
