High Temperature Ceramics and Refractories

Wherever products have to be fired, supports, setups and furniture of high temperature resistant materials that do not or only slightly deform, are required. Since they are also heated up, substantially increasing energy consumption, i.e. cost in the process, low weight products with low heat storage capacity are preferred, if they can withstand the firing conditions. Properties such as primarily thermal shock resistance, low heat expansion, low deformation, low deformation (creeping) under load and low thermal fatigue are required. Here it is vital for the user to select carefully.
