High Temperature Insulation and Kiln Service

The energy consumption of a kiln is not only dependant on the height of the firing temperature. Many factors are involved and interconnected. Insulation of the kiln, the quality of the labyrinth, mass, sealing and insulation of the kiln cars, sealing of the doors, influencing of the heat stream all need special attention. The selection of the appropriate materials and the construction as well as the adjustment of the kiln control are therefore extremely important. Especially ceramic fibres are problematic and need to be treated with utmost care. We can also offer completely fibre-free insulations, but this solution leads to higher heat conductivity and higher heat storage capacity and consequently to higher energy consumption. It is possible to cover the fibre in such a way that the advantages of the fibre are maintained, but loose fibres and loss of fibres are avoided at the same time.
